Other significant events 8-30-09

Dear friends and family -

I just wanted to share a few things that have gone on in the past 2 weeks in with other friends and family.

Number 1 - Steve's sister Jody Kitchen got married on the 22nd to Keith Ginop, the second marraige for both. Steve was able to take a week off to spend in Cheboygan with his family and attended the wedding which I am told was great. Unfortunately, the wedding date was set after my sister had made travel plans to come to visit me that same weekend, so it was too late for me to be able to attend. As though meant to be, it is good I didn't plan to attend because as sick as I was, I couldn't even go to work and could barely drive 2 hours to Milwaukee, let alone 8 to Cheboygan that weekend. Not to mention the fact that I could have exposed 200 people to bronchitis...which would have been bad. I am sad that I missed it but I am glad that Steve could go home. I wish I could have seen Steve though, because it's now been 8 1/2 weeks since I saw him last. But a huge congratulations to Jody and Keith!!!

Number 2 - I am going home finally for Labor Day weekend. I am spending Thursday night with the DeShazos in Kalamazoo and going the remainder of the drive Friday up to Cheboygan. Sadly Steve won't be there, but I am happy I'll see lots of my Lindsay relatives and friends who live in Cheboygan or who are going home....I am looking forward to it. However, I am saddened by the fact that it probably won't be good boating weather!

Number 3 - someone I care very much for is having a skin cancer surgery tomorrow. The person is very private so I am leaving out details, but saying special prayers for that individual today and tomorrow and thereafter.
I think those are the other important thoughts before I move on to the next 2 posts....
