My friend Katy's MS Walk doing partially in my honor
My apologies for reposting this, but a friend of ours (one of my sister's classmates) who grew up across the street from us in Cheboygan, Michigan, Katy (Eustice) Wilson sent this message along via my sister Maureen.
She is a nurse in northern Michigan, and my sister found out that she is walking in the MS Walk in Frankenmuth, Michigan, to raise money for the National MS Society and she is doing it in honor of her husband's aunt, one of her patients, and in honor of me.
I feel truly blessed. I wanted to send this link in case you were able to contribute to her fundraising for her walk.... Lots of love to all of you...Kate
This is Katy's message:
"To All, I promise I will not keep hounding you for donations, I simply would like to raise awareness of this event and cause. I am participating for personal reasons. Ryan's Aunt has been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and has deteriorated very quickly to the point that she is wheelchair bound in her 50's. I joined her team, Anne's Amblers, along with her daughter, who will be 9 months pregnant at the May 9th walk in Frankenmuth!! But that won't stop her...We have a Hospice patient, also in her 50's, that has declined very rapidly. A friend of mine in her 20's has recently been diagnosed.
I see the daily physical and emotional suffering a person (and family members) with MS experience, including constant pain and physical limitations. Our team goal is $1000 at this point, which would almost cover a one month supply of injectable medications for a typical person with MS. I would like to raise more... Hopefully the snow will be gone by May! Thanks for your support, Katy
Dear Friends and Family,MS stops people from moving. The National Multiple Sclerosis Society exists to make sure it doesn’t, but every hour of every day, someone is diagnosed with MS. That's why I joined the movement and registered for Walk MS, and that's why I'm asking you to support my fundraising efforts with a tax-deductible donation.
The National MS Society is dedicated to creating a world free of MS but they can't do it without our help. It's faster and easier than ever to support this cause that's so important to me. Simply click on the link at the bottom of this message. Or, if you prefer, you can write a check to the National MS Society - Walk MS and send it to me. Any amount, great or small, helps to make a difference in the lives of people with MS.Please help create a world free of MS by making a donation.
Or, why not join me on the day of the event? Become a participant and side-by-side, as teammates, we can work together to raise the funds to make a difference.Sincerely,Katy
